Short answer: BrowserStack has the bigger real-device cloud, 35,000+ devices against TestMu AI's 10,000+. TestMu AI, the new name for LambdaTest since January 2026, is cheaper for live testing and web automation. For automating mobile apps on real devices, both start at $199 a month per parallel session. Pick BrowserStack for device coverage, TestMu AI for lower web and live-testing costs. Facts below were checked on both vendors' sites on 13 October 2026.
| BrowserStack | TestMu AI (LambdaTest) | |
|---|---|---|
| Real iOS and Android devices | 35,000+ | 10,000+ |
| Desktop browser combinations | 3,500+ | 3,000+ |
| Mobile frameworks on real devices | Appium (all versions), Espresso, XCUITest, Maestro, Flutter | Appium, Espresso, XCUITest |
| Real-device app automation | $199/month (Device Cloud), $249 (Device Cloud Pro) | $199/month ($249 month to month) |
| Live testing on real devices | $39/month (App Live, single user) | $39/month (Real Device Plus Live) |
| Desktop web automation | $99/month | $79/month |

Both vendors price by parallel session, so cost scales with how many tests you run at once, not with team size. The differences show up in which products you need.
| If you need… | BrowserStack | TestMu AI | Cheaper |
|---|---|---|---|
| Manual testing on desktop browsers | $29 (Live, desktop) | $15 (Virtual Live) | TestMu AI |
| Manual testing on real phones | $39 (App Live) | $39 (Real Device Plus Live) | Same |
| Automated desktop web tests | $99 (Automate, desktop) | $79 (Desktop, all OS) | TestMu AI |
| Automated app tests on real phones | $199 (App Automate) | $199 (Real Device Plus Automation) | Same |

One catch on TestMu AI: its automation plans are separate tracks. The real-device plan does not include emulators or desktop browsers, so a team that needs both buys two plans or goes to Enterprise. See the full breakdown in our TestMu AI (LambdaTest) pricing guide.
BrowserStack's advantage is scale: about three and a half times as many real devices, and real-device support for Maestro and Flutter as well as Appium, Espresso and XCUITest. Its Device Cloud Pro tier adds SIM-enabled devices for OTP and SMS testing, Apple Pay and media injection.
TestMu AI's real-device plan covers the same core frameworks and adds features such as camera image injection, biometrics, GPS mocking and Smart TV testing. Its separate emulator and simulator plan also supports Detox, which matters for React Native teams.
The two take different approaches. BrowserStack's AI agents (self-healing, failure analysis and test selection) work on tests you already have, and come with Device Cloud Pro. TestMu AI's KaneAI is a separate product that writes tests from natural-language instructions, priced per agent on top of device access. Mobile test authoring in KaneAI needs the Max plan at $179 per agent per month.
Both are device clouds: they run your existing Appium, Espresso or XCUITest tests. If your problem is that those tests break whenever the UI changes, moving between them won't fix it, because the tests still depend on element locators. That is the problem Drizz addresses: tests are written in plain English and Vision AI finds each element on the screen, so there are no locators to maintain. BrowserStack has more real devices (35,000+ against 10,000+) and supports more mobile frameworks on real devices. LambdaTest, now TestMu AI, is cheaper for live testing and desktop web automation. For real-device app automation both start at $199 a month per parallel session.
Yes. LambdaTest rebranded to TestMu AI on 12 January 2026. The platform and accounts carried over.
TestMu AI is cheaper for desktop live testing ($15 against $29 a month) and desktop web automation ($79 against $99). Real-device live testing and real-device app automation cost the same on both: $39 and $199 a month per parallel session, billed annually.
BrowserStack offers a free trial. TestMu AI has a permanent free plan with 100 lifetime minutes of automation and short live-testing sessions each month.
Yes. Drizz runs plain-English tests on real devices in its own cloud, and teams can use it alongside a device cloud they already pay for.
